WKF Vice President and President of the Mediterranean Karate Federation Bechir Cherif travelled to Heraklion (Greece) to participate in the inspection visit of the upcoming 2023 Mediterranean Beach Games. Held in Heraklion, a port city on the island of Crete, the Karate competition of the Mediterranean Beach Games is scheduled from September 10 to 11.
Representatives of all the sports in the programme gathered in Heraklion to review the preparations for the event and conduct high-profile meetings to maximise the opportunities ahead of the tournament. Mr Cherif, who will act as the Technical Delegate of the Karate competition at the event, represented the sport at the gatherings.
During his time in Heraklion, Mr Cherif met with Greece’s Minister of Sport Eleftherios Avgenakis who closed the inspection visit.
Over 50 athletes from 13 Mediterranean countries have registered to participate in the Karate competition of the Mediterranean Beach Games.
