The best karate athletes in the region are expected to participate in the event, which is scheduled for May 19 to 21.
The event is open to categories going from cadet to senior, so numerous competitors are expected to attend the competition.
The last edition of the Mediterranean Championships was held last year in Limassol (Cyprus). Over 400 athletes from 13 countries took part in the event. Powerhouse nation of Egypt topped the medal table of the tournament with 60 medals, followed by Italy and Greece.
